The Chicks are now sharing the name with the artists formerly known as The Dixie Chicks
Judy and I were very surprised, to say the least, when we were contacted by "The Dixie Chicks” asking permission to use our name. It was great that these women recognised us, and approached us. We understood their problem with all that is going on in the USA at present, so after some consideration, decided to co-exist with them, and share the name.
So they will be called “The Chicks” and we will also still be called "The Chicks"! We have been “The Chicks“ in New Zealand since 1965, and have a lot of history here in New Zealand. The difference between the two groups will be made very clear to the public on both the net and any other media.
We have just released an album in the USA ourselves, of our first-ever recordings as The Chicks. It is on Sundazed Music USA so please check it out by clicking here.
